Blacks in Wax
A living history program is one of RWLC/SETLC signature educational programs. Combining drama, music, dance, and theater, the youth of SETLC bring African American history to life for school groups, family, and theater patrons. SETLC scholars in period costumes pose as “wax statues,” portraying iconic African Americans from the past and present with first-person monologue depicting their contributions and place in history.
Heart to Heart
This annual event brings together all the junior tennis clubs from across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Juniors and adult tennis players get to showcase their skills, techniques and share their love for the game of tennis through friendly intergenerational competition. The highlight of Heart to Heart is the celebrity matches that feature local media personalities, politicians, and other community leaders.
This bi-annual event highlights the organization's successes while raising funds that benefit both the education and tennis programs. This profound event brings together local and corporate sponsors for a worthy cause.
